Linda Jeanne Najar

Linda Jeanne Najar was born in New Jersey and raised in Upstate NY, in the small town of Ovid. As early as age 3, she was determined to entertain audiences with her singing. Najar was brought up in a family enriched with music; her influences are as multifaceted as the many audiences she entertains. She performs music by a diverse group of artists such as Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Alicia Keys, Aretha Franklin, Lita Ford, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, J Lo, Selina, and Barbara Streisand.

Najars singing career started with local bands that played through out the Finger Lakes area and Rochester. Najar could be seen performing with bands at fairs, festivals, the RPO (Performing Arts Center at FLCC), and fundraisers such as the Battle Of The Bands Against Cancer in Yates County. In 1997, she sought out to pursue a solo musical career. Najar is an Alumni of Keuka College and Finger Lakes Community College, where she attained an Audio Recording background along with her Bachelor of Science and a degree in Occupational Therapy. Najar enjoys performing a local outdoor events including The Canandaigua Arts Festival & St. Mary's Festival, as well as performing Gospel at churches and other fundraising events throughout Wayne, Ontario, Monroe, and Seneca County.

Linda performed at Sledgehammers with 98PXY to raise money for the September 11th tragedy in NYC and continues to support the September 11th Remembrance, with live performances. Najar has always appreciated the many bands that let her share the stage, giving her an opportunity to do what she does best.

Through the years she has sat in with a variety of bands and artists, such as AKA, Crazy Train (Ozzy Tribute Band), Quadra, The Dukes, Infinite Madness, Orient Express, Aaron Austin, Phill Freeman, Todd East and Cinnamon. In the Rochester area, you may have heard her on the radio and/or television, busting out the Dorschel Automotive Groups, Definitely Dorschel Commercial.

Linda was a headlining act at the Roland Williams Football Camp in 2001, as well as an opening act for Jimmy Cozier, Olivia, and Grammy Award Winner, Alicia Keys. Najar got the crowd ready at the Marquee for Koffee Brown, providing a mix of R&B and Gospel to the Night Club. Linda performed several times in NYC at the Apollo Theatre, where she was a Semi-Finalist in the Night At The Apollo Talent Contest.

Linda appeared in the Divas Live in Rochester Production, at the Harro East Theatre & Ballroom; portraying Mariah Carey, with proceeds from the event going towards AIDS ROCHESTER Inc.

Najars many performances include the opening ceremonies at Frontier Field, welcoming the Rochester Redwings with the National Anthem, as well as the Rochester Americans at the Blue Cross Arena. Najar has also performed the Opening Ceremonies at the Finger Lakes Race Track.

Najar was the Master Of Ceremonies and performer at the 2002 and 2003, Rochester Peace Fest. She also had the priveledge of MCing at the 9th Annual STEP-OFF held at the Blue Cross Arena. Recent local appearances by Linda include the 2004 and 2005 and 2006 March Of Dimes - March America fundraiser in downtown Canandaigua, as well as a concert preceding the Finger Lakes Arts & Grants DAC Award Presentations. Linda has performed for several years at the Color Outside The Lines events in Rochester providing DJ, Karaoke, and Live Performances at the Oak Tree Lounge and American Legion in Rochester for the Phat Friday Celebrations.

Najars versatility includes R&B, Pop, Gospel, Standards, Oldies, Jazz, Rock, and Country. She brings a unique blend to any event or occasion. Linda Najar has more than 25 years experience in a wide variety of areas to include: Live Performances, Weddings, Wedding Receptions, Funerals, Sporting Events, Multi-Cultural Events, Commercials, Vocal Lessons, and much more. Summer 2004 & 2005 provided a very diverse range of performances to include Weddings, Live Events, and Fundraisers. Recent venues & performances including: The MOCHA Project - Men Of Color Health Awareness celebration at Genesee Park; SHADES - A social organization for lesbians of color at the Hamlin House VFW in Buffalo; Rochester Gay Pride Picnic After Party; 2004 two dates at The Lilac Festival, as well as many, performances at the Finger Lakes Gaming and Racing.
